I am a graphic designer and a fantasy artist who first started out in graphic/web design. Having always been creative, this was a great first outlet for my inner imagination. While I loved every bit of my time as a graphic designer, as time passed, I yearned to create my own art and began to paint mostly abstracts on canvas but found when painting human figures, I wasn't satisfied with the end result. Knowing I wasn't the greatest at drawing human features, I decided to paint silhouettes, allowing that some of the features in the image would be up to the viewer. I wanted the viewer's imagination to come to life when they saw my work.
That's how my fantasy art was born.
I always had a soft spot for fairies and started with them then broadened my repertoire to include angels, dragons, mermaids, animals and eventually, people.
Fantasy can mean a myriad of things to different individuals. You don't have to love a particular fantasy "subject" to enjoy fantasy. I want my work to tell a story and evoke emotion.
My art is about story and emotion. I want my viewers to drift into a world filled with mood and atmosphere, a world that can be changed by their thoughts and feelings. And since a picture is worth a thousand words, I want my viewers to think up a thousand and one when they see my art.
